select list of the many NGO websites with useful news sections. To see a
larger list of NGO websites, many of which also maintain news sections,
see previous page.
Greenpeace
Oceans - Press releases
The Greenpeace site is usually a reasonable source for up-to-date information on fisheries
issues, although the site was being restructured at the time of the writing of this page
and press releases were not easily obtainable. The link above is to the Greenpeace
homepage.
WWF
- Endangered Seas Campaign Newsroom
This part of the WWF site usually contains some
press-releases relating to recent fisheries issues.
Environment News
Service
This news service, originally provided free in the Lycos web directory
but now provided independently and subject to a moderate charge, is quite useful which has news on
fisheries/marine living resources issues from time to time. Offers a
(free) subscription service
for daily notification of headlines.
SeaWeb
Small (but) regularly updated collection of recent news items relating to
marine conservation.
