OceanLaw completes European Parliament study on the Law of the Sea Convention

OceanLaw has completed a study for the European Parliament on the
UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. The study, entitled
The UN Convention on the Law of the Sea: Development, Challenges and Perspectives, examines
the implementation of and current successes and challenges concerning the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, with particular reference to
EU fisheries policies and the new EU marine and maritime strategies.
It was carried out by OceanLaw consultants Robin Churchill, Michael
Lodge and Richard Barnes, together with a consultant from MegaPesca LDA
(Portugal). The study was carried out between January and July and the final
report was presented to the European Parliament
Committee on Fisheries in December 2006.
