Ocean Law Director to speak at ASCOBANS/ACCOBAMS workshop on marine protected areas

Ocean Law Director Chris Hedley has been invited to speak at an international workshop convened by the ASCOBANS and ACCOBAMS Secretariats and the European Cetacean Society (ECS). The workshop, which will take place in San Sebastian, Spain in April, has the theme “Selection Criteria for Marine Protected Areas for Cetaceans” and Chris has been asked to give a short review of some of the legal issues involved in establishing marine protected areas in domestic legislation.

Papers from the workshop will be published in proceedings to be presented at the 2008 meeting of the ASCOBANS Advisory Committee.
