OceanLaw Director accepted onto the IUCN Commission on Environmental
Law

OceanLaw Director Chris Hedley has been accepted onto the
IUCN Commission on Environmental Law. Chris intends to play an active role in the Commission, where he will contribute his expertise
on fisheries and oceans issues.
The IUCN Commission on Environmental Law (CEL) is a network of environmental law and policy experts from all regions of the world who volunteer their knowledge and services to IUCN activities, especially to those of the IUCN Law Programme. CEL functions as an integral part of the
IUCN Environmental Law Programme, which includes the Commission and the
Environmental Law Centre. The mission of CEL is to advance sustainability through the development of legal and policy concepts and instruments and through building the capacity of societies to develop and implement environmental law and policy, in furtherance of the IUCN mission.
