Director - Christopher Hedley LLB
PgDPLS
Chris is a qualified barrister and Director of
OceanLaw. He established OceanLaw in 1998, and created the
Internet Guide
to International Fisheries Law in 1999. His current roles in
OceanLaw include acting as General Editor of all OceanLaw's
international fisheries law research projects, including
Editor-in-Chief of International Fisheries
Law and Policy Review. Chris has considerable
experience as a legal adviser and consultant and maintains
extensive academic interests, both inside and outside OceanLaw. He has published numerous academic
articles and papers on EC and international fisheries law,
international environmental law and the law of the sea.

Programmes Manager - Karen Sherman BSc
MA
Karen has a first degree in geography and an MA in environment
and development, combined with several years experience in
programme administration and management in a number of different
environments. Karen project manages most of OceanLaw's research
projects and provides general programme support. She is also
responsible for developing country issues in OceanLaw
programmes, and leads some of OceanLaw's fisheries development projects. |

Business Manager - Andrea Gowdy BAc CIPD
With qualifications in accountancy and personnel management,
Andrea deals with all aspects of OceanLaw's business, including
contractual issues, human resources, marketing,
finance and administration. Andrea is also usually the first
point of contact for people wishing to engage OceanLaw on a

Online Publications Editor - Ian Hawkins
BSc MA
Ian works on the technical design and development and of OceanLaw's
online publications and websites, including the
Internet Guide to
International Fisheries Law and the development of the
International Fisheries
Law and Policy Portal (IFLPP). He also provides technical
input into the online management of OceanLaw publications,
working with other members of the publications team. |

Publications Assistant - Rachel Sherman
BSc MSc
Rachel provides programme and technical support to the
OceanLaw publishing programme, working on resources such as the
Internet Guide to
International Fisheries Law website and two periodicals:
International Fisheries
Law and Policy Review and
Current Developments in
International Fisheries Law and Policy. |
