Christopher
Hedley founded Ocean Law in 1998 and continues to act as Director. He is an English-qualified barrister and has
considerable professional experience both
as a legal practitioner and as a consultant for Ocean Law. He has
been engaged on a wide-range of projects for a wide-range of
clients, including the European Union institutions,
international, national and non-governmental organizations and
private enterprise clients.
Chris also maintains substantial academic and
research interests, having led several large research projects
and continuing to be involved in a number of significant
research projects across Ocean Law's
range of expertise. These include the
Internet Guide to
International Fisheries Law which he created in 1999 and the
current development of the
International
Fisheries Law and Policy Portal (IFLPP) project. He has
also published extensively in the fields
of international fisheries law, law of the sea and international
environmental law and holds a number of academic editorial roles.
