International Fisheries Law and Policy Review
The International Fisheries Law and Policy Review (IFLPR) project
consists of the development, design and eventual publication of a
peer-reviewed, subscription-based journal on international fisheries
law, policy and management. Most stages of this process are now
complete and IFLPR will formally be launched in 2008 (with the first
issue due for publication in 2009).
IFLPR will be published 4 times a year in print and online. The
journal, which has an Editorial Board and a Management/Editorial
Team comprised of leading international experts, will provide
scholarly and practical articles, analyses and reviews of major
issues and developments in international and comparative fisheries
law, policy and management. The scope of the journal will extend not
only to fisheries, but will also include marine mammals, sea
turtles, sea birds and other living marine biodiversity.
IFLPR has been under development since 2003, but the terms of
reference for the project have developed considerably since the
project’s inception. IFLPR is now being developed alongside
Current Developments in International
Fisheries Law and Policy, a monthly electronic periodical which
will also be published in print (3 issues at a time) in each issue of IFLPR, and forms part
of the International Fisheries Law and Policy
Portal suite of publications, also to be launched in 2008.
Earlier “Concept Issues” of the journal are available below (the
final format closely following the 2005 Concept Issue), together
with information on the journal’s Editorial Board.
