The Agreement concerning Measures for the Protection of the
Stocks of Deep-Sea Prawns, European Lobsters, Norway Lobsters and Crabs was
adopted in Oslo in March 1952 in order to introduce joint management measures
between Denmark, Sweden and Norway for certain stocks shared between their zones
and off their coasts. The Agreement, which covered the seas lying between the
three countries, set minimum sizes of meshes and minimum sizes of crustaceans to be caught
(these restrictions did not apply to fishery research) and provided for the
establishment of a commission to coordinate scientific and practical research. A
protocol of amendment was adopted in 1959 to
minimum length for Norway lobsters.
